Sub35 Weekend Retreat: A Meaningful Life

At the Chellington Centre, Bedfordshire - Bookings will open later in the year
In a world of constant digital noise and pressure to achieve, it’s easy to look around and ask: "Is this all there is?"
Inspired by the Ariyapariyesana Sutta (The Discourse on the Noble Search), this weekend retreat is an invitation to pause and reflect on what gives our life meaning. Millennia ago, the Buddha grappled with this exact human dilemma, drawing a radical line between two ways of living:
The Ignoble Search: Chasing happiness in temporary things—like status, validation, and material success.
The Noble Search: Committing to the pursuit of what is truly lasting, deep, and free.
This weekend isn’t about escaping reality; it’s about waking up to it. Join us to trade the superficial hustle for a life of genuine substance, purpose, and peace.
The Retreat is an opportunity to connect with a rich diversity of young people engaged with the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, and experience the joy and inspiration of a Buddhist retreat community.
The retreat is open to 18 - 35 year olds who attend/ or plan to start attending the Cambridge Buddhist Centre or one of the surrounding Triratna groups.
Dana Economy
This retreat is bookable with a £65 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. We offer retreatants the opportunity to make an additional donation, which you can do at the checkout. There will also be a dana announcement on the retreat where you can make a donation by card or cash. As a guide, a donation of £125 on top of the booking deposit would cover all the basic costs of us putting on this retreat. If you are able to donate more, then this additional income will help us to continue to run these retreats and support others with limited means to attend our retreats. For more information on our Dana Economy, see our website here.
Those leading the retreat do so entirely on the basis of generosity and are not financially remunerated: our motivation is that a retreat can be a transformative, life-changing experience, and we want to make that available to as many people as possible.
Retreat details You will be sent information on what to bring with you when you make your booking, as well as directions to the Retreat Centre and a link to help you to share lifts.
Dietary and medical needs All meals are vegan; if you have a food allergy or medical condition requiring a special diet, please enter the details at the checkout. If you know that you snore, it would also be useful to include this information so that it may be taken into account when allocating rooms.
Note: Please be aware that none of the classes/events run by the Cambridge Buddhist Centre is aimed at under 18-year-olds. All under 18-year-olds must be accompanied by their parent or another responsible adult over the age of 18 (with their parent's permission). Please contact us in advance of attending at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com so we can assess how suitable the event is for the young person.
You can make a donation in person in the Buddhist Centre foyer, or online via our Donate page.
