Album Launch Concert – Guitar Works by Dušan Bogdanović (Naxos)

Daniela Rossi – Dušan Bogdanović – Guitar

This concert marks the official album launch of Guitar Works, a recording devoted entirely to the music of Dušan Bogdanović, and the result of a unique artistic collaboration that has unfolded over several years.

The album brings together works spanning more than four decades of Bogdanović's writing for guitar, with a special focus on a large body of pieces written specifically for Daniela Rossi. These dedications form the heart of the project: music that grew out of an ongoing dialogue between composer and performer, shaped through conversation, experimentation, and shared artistic curiosity. In many ways, the album can be understood as a kind of multidimensional diary – a living document that reflects different moments, aesthetics, and inner landscapes within Bogdanović’s musical universe.

The concert programme will centre primarily on this album repertoire, offering an intimate insight into the sound world captured on the recording: a language where tradition and innovation coexist, where counterpoint, colour, rhythm, and freedom are in constant conversation.

The evening will also include a special second part featuring duos with Dušan Bogdanović himself. Together, Rossi and Bogdanović will perform a selection of his works alongside music by the great Bulgarian pianist and composer Milcho Leviev. These pieces, originally written for piano, have been arranged by Bogdanović for guitar duo, revealing new textures and perspectives while preserving their distinctive rhythmic vitality and expressive depth.

This album launch concert is not only a presentation of a recording, but a celebration of artistic collaboration, shared listening, and the living process of music-making – an invitation to experience these works both as carefully shaped compositions and as vibrant, human expressions in the moment.

Tickets are available in advance via our website with limited tickets on the door from 7pm.
