Art Exhibition: Tim Shuker-Yates

Meet the artist! Come for a talk, tea and cake!
Tim Shuker-Yates is an artist whose work, simply put, explores the idea of the fenland
landscape. He has recently completed a series of paintings reflecting on this established
theme using a distinctive contemporary mixed-media approach.
Tim has been a community artist since the nineties. Following a period where he spent more time organising than delivering creative workshops, he moved into youth work around
2010. This rekindled his creative practice and took it into a new direction, working as a
successful street artist, under the moniker of Abide.
Now, he has changed tack by employing spray paint to create intimate, atmospheric pieces
that resonate with tranquillity and depth. The series is a meditation on the East Anglian
landscape, endeavouring to captures the essence of the region. His work evokes the wide-
open spaces, serene skies, and subtle textures of this rural environment, conveyed with a
fluidity that mirrors the landscape's natural beauty.
His work as a mural artist and his mastery of spray paint has enabled him to blend
traditional painting techniques with modern conceptual approaches, offering a fresh
perspective on the convention of the landscape.
You can view the exhibition weekdays 10am - 1pm, between Monday 9th February to Tuesday 31st March.
