TES: Turning Towards: An Active Engagement with the World

Dates:
Sunday 13th Dec 2026 - 10.00am to 3.00pm

Central to Triratna is an understanding that the transformation of the world is inseparable from the transformation of the self.

Buddhist social action is not a substitute for more formal Buddhist practice but rather arises out of the wisdom and compassion generated by it.

In October 2024, the Triratna International Council produced a set of Social Action Guidelines (Social Action Guidelines | Triratna International Council) which explores how we can engage with social action intended to have a positive impact on the world.

There are different views about the place of Buddhist social action in Triratna and how to do it well. Using these guidelines, we will explore how we can engage actively with the world.

Through meditation, discussion and ritual we shall examine how we can make a positive difference to the world, both as individuals and as a Sangha.

These events are run by the Triratna Earth Sangha team for all the Sangha to participate in. We try to build a safe and supportive environment for exploring current world issues together. All are welcome.

Please bring a vegetarian lunch to share.
