Spring Weekend Retreat

The Way of Metta – an exploration of the Karaniya Metta Sutta
Weekend retreat at Vajrasana Retreat Centre, Suffolk
Please note: there is one more single room available on this retreat. This will be allocated on a first come first served basis in relation to medical/access needs.
The Retreat
On this retreat we will be exploring the Karaniya Metta Sutta. This famous short text provides a very condensed and beautiful summary of the whole Buddhist path. It also highlights the power of metta (loving kindness) to transform our relationship to the world.
Through meditating, exploration in groups, and quiet reflection, we will be practicing as a community for the weekend. This time at Vajrasana, a dedicated Buddhist retreat centre in the lovely Suffolk countryside, will provide an opportunity to reflect on your life and get to know others in the Sangha (spiritual community) more deeply.
This retreat is open to those who attend the Cambridge Buddhist Centre as well as those from outlying groups such as Luton and Letchworth; to connect and practice with each other. It is open to all levels of experience, so even if you are new, you can join us to experience what it’s like to practice within a spiritual community for the weekend.
Dana Economy This retreat is bookable with a £50 non-refundable deposit. We offer retreatants the opportunity to make an additional donation, which you can do at the checkout. There will also be a dana announcement on the retreat where you can make a donation by card or cash. As a guide, a donation of £100 on top of the booking deposit would cover all the basic costs of us putting on this retreat. If you are able to donate more, then this additional income will help us to continue to run these retreats and support others with limited means to attend our retreats. For more information on our Dana Economy, click HERE.
Retreat details You will be sent information on what to bring with you when you make your booking, as well as directions to the Retreat Centre and a link to help you to share lifts.
Dietary and medical needs All meals are vegan; if you have a food allergy or medical condition requiring a special diet, please enter the details at the checkout. If you know that you snore, it would also be useful to include this information so that it may be taken into account when allocating rooms.
