Join Tejodhi for Mindful Movement Chair Yoga on a Tuesday afternoon

Chair Yoga is for everyone and can help people with a wide range of conditions and restricted mobility to support them to exercise without putting pressure on joints, and can help people who are not used to exercise to begin improving their strength and balance.

Try it out at a free taster on Tuesday 8th October: https://www.cambridgebuddhistcentre.com/FreeChairYoga

"I really enjoy it and feel better after" Course Participant

Tejodhi's Chair Yoga offers another way of benefiting from Yoga using a chair as a prop. This is ideal for those who need a little extra support during their practice.

"I think the balance of stretches etc is just right...I find all of it very beneficial but do love the meditation...I love it when you talk us through our body at the end" Course Participant

Classes are accessible for people with mobility issues or who have difficulty getting up and down from a mat in a traditional Yoga class.

"I always look forward to the class, you are a good teacher" Course Participant

The class will mainly involve seated poses on the chair. In the class we will warm up with some gentle stretches and Yoga poses, which encourage flexibility and strength. Breath work during and meditation/relaxation at the end of the session for an overall sense of well-being.

"I feel more flexible afterwards" Course Participant

You can pay for the course below (equivalent to £10 per session) or drop-in at £12 per session.

About Tejodhi

I am a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher based in Bury St Edmunds. I have been practising yoga for most of my adult life and took it more seriously following a severe flare up of arthritis in my legs. I found the exercises the Physiotherapist gave me to improve my mobility were very similar to the exercises I practise in yoga and decided I simply had to practise more yoga! I have not had a similar flare up since.

Although I am a teacher, I am also a student, continually learning and growing. I offer accessible chair yoga classes to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. It does not matter if you cannot touch your toes, it’s what you learn in trying!
