This Iyengar yoga course is suitable for anyone with previous yoga experience and is open to beginners by request.

If you are new to yoga at the Buddhist Centre, please contact Jane with any questions and to check if this class is right for you: yoga@janedurkin.uk.

If you are coming for the first time, please fill in our Yoga Health Questionnaire before your class.

What is Iyengar Yoga?

Iyengar yoga is a traditional form of yoga with a focus on body awareness and healthy alignment.

You will work progressively to establish good yoga basics, before gradually moving on to more challenging poses over time.

Classes are generally quite physically active, but the rewards are huge. If you’re not flexible, don’t worry. There are always options for adapting your practice. Please just ask.

Each class will end with a guided relaxation so you can leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and ready to face the day ahead.

What should I bring?

Our bodywork studio has all the equipment needed. Just bring yourself and wear comfortable clothing suitable for a fitness class. Be prepared to practice barefoot.
