Buddhism level 2: What makes you a Buddhist?

Description:A six-week course, for people wanting to extend their knowledge of Buddhism. Classes include short talks, discussion, workshop elements and often short periods of meditation.
This course covers in an accessible way the traditional approach to being a Buddhist. The material comprises:

- Going for Refuge to the Three Jewels
- Faith within a Buddhist context
- Enlightenment as goal of Buddhism
- Dharma as doctrine - the approach to doctrine, levels of wisdom
- Dharma as practice - the five spiritual faculties
- Dharma as practice - The fruits of the spiritual life
- Development of the Sangha & historical development of three yanas.

This module can be taken in isolation, but it also is part of a one year course comprising six modules, as below:

- Buddhist ethics
- Ritual and Devotion
- A Path with Heart
