Summer Yatra – Devils Dyke and Icknield Way

Friday 28th Jun 2019 to Sunday 30th Jun 2019 - 4.00pm to 2.30pm

A Yatra is a Buddhist-inspired walking retreat, a mindful and devotional celebration of our land and our mutual interconnectedness with it and each another.

Join us as we walk part of several ancient trackways; the Icknield Way, the Stour Valley Path and the incredible earthwork of Devils Dyke. This page is for booking the full weekend with camping option. For the Saturday and Sunday day yatras, see below.

• Friday 28th to Sunday 30th June (4pm Friday to 2.30pm Sunday) – full weekend with
• Saturday 29th June (9.30am to 5.30pm) – full day option
• Sunday 30th June (9.30am to 2.30pm) – short day option

We would encourage you to come for the whole weekend, although there is the option to join us just for the day on either Saturday or Sunday.

We will walk together in meditative silence, at a gentle pace with plenty of breaks, when we can talk, share poetry or reflections if we so wish. In the evenings we will return to camp and enjoy a tasty meal prepared by our great Sherpa Team.

We will have sitting meditations in the mornings and evenings as well as puja and other rituals at various times.

We shall be taking inspiration for our meditations and rituals from the Buddha and the beauty of nature at this time of Midsummer.

'Yatra' means 'spiritual journey' and the Buddha's followers were 'Yatrikas', or wanderers. So we will be evoking the way of life of the very earliest Buddhists ‘upon England's green and pleasant land’.

Based at Little Ditton – address supplied after booking.
