Relaxation Training 1

Monday 24th Feb 2020 to Monday 20th Apr 2020 - 5.30pm to 7.00pm

Eight weeks of training in progressive muscle relaxation, particularly accessible pathway into deep relaxation.

Deep relaxation is a very pleasant experience in itself as it helps dissolve stress and holding patterns in the bodymind. Progressive muscle relaxation training offers particularly thorough learning around the experience of holding and release. It can support your general wellbeing, inner peace, creativity, concentration, meditation, sleep, as well as gentle psychological processing to release physical and emotional tensions and anxieties.

Like most relaxation pathways, progressive muscle relaxation calms and harmonises the nervous system, and through that the body and mind more broadly. As the training progresses, your bodymind will relax more and more deeply and you will be able to “get into” deep relaxation more quickly. Furthermore, with daily practice there is the possibility of establishing quick relaxation routines that can support you during the day, wherever you are.

We will also use elements of active relaxation, mindfulness and positive emotion training. The course complements, and can also be a lead-in to meditation and MBSR. Effective training depends on daily home practice, which is an essential part of the course

The training course includes a day workshop, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Sunday 19 April.

There will be no class on Monday 13 April (Easter Monday).

If this will be your first relaxation course with Sarvatajnana, please contact her before you book at to explore weather this deep relaxation training might be suitable for you.

Kindly note that progressive muscle relaxation training is not suitable for people experiencing active psychosis, clinical depression or disorders where volitional muscle relaxation is undesirable. Please contact Sarvatajnana beforehand to discuss any personal health concerns.
