A festival day where we gather to honour the Buddha, contemplate his death and the meaning of his teaching.
8.30am - 9.30am: Meditation for Order members - refuges and precepts
followed by one’s own practice*
9.30am: Doors open
10am - 1pm: Evocation of the Buddha and his qualities through meditation, readings, chanting and discussion (includes a tea break)*
1pm - 2.15pm: Shared vegetarian lunch, please bring something to share
2.15pm - 3 45pm: Evocation of the Buddha’s teaching through three short talks on working creatively with change followed by discussion groups*
3.45pm: Tea break
4.15pm - 5.15pm: Puja including hearing about the Buddha’s final hours
Please feel free to bring along a picture or other remembrance of anyone who has died within the last year for inclusion in the shrine and/or within the day.
*due to the quiet nature of these activities they are not suitable for children
