Sub35s: Precious Qualities - Wisdom

Dates:
Friday 15th Nov 2019 - 7.30pm to 9.30pm

How do we realise our true potential as human beings? This is the fundamental question that Buddhism is trying to address.

In one of his best known teachings, the Buddha taught that there are five precious qualities that we need to nurture in order to realise our true potential. These are the qualities of faith, wisdom, energy, concentration and mindfulness. And whilst growth can never be linear or exactly the same for each person, these qualities give us a valuable road map as to what that unfoldment might look like for us.

In this five part series then, we will explore each of these precious qualities, hearing from people practising in a real living and modern Buddhist tradition. And we'll be looking at how we can begin to nurture and allow these qualities to unfold in our lives.

The Cambridge Buddhist Centre Sub35 events are an opportunity for people under 35 to explore the Buddha's teachings to find out how we can use them to navigate the modern world and live richer and more fulfilling lives. The evenings will involve a mixture of led meditation, talks and group discussion to explore our themes.

We will also have a late night tea bar for those who want to stay and hang out afterwards. You are welcome to bring vegan biscuits or cake to share.

Anyone aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Newcomers welcome!

We run the nights for free, with any donations very welcome.
