Sailing the Eight Worldly Winds

Spring Sangha Retreat

How do we live good lives in this ever-changing world? Compelled by gain, caste down by loss, raised up by praise and gutted by blame - how can we avoid being ground down, and not lose our direction, confidence and spiritual vision?

The Buddha gave us clear teachings on how to work skilfully with these 'worldly winds' that can blow us around. On this retreat, we'll be exploring the Buddha's compassionate yet uncompromising teaching which can liberate our day-to-day lives. We shall explore the Lokavipatti Sutta and learn how we can skilfully work with the polarities of: Loss and Gain, Infamy and Fame, Blame and Praise, and Pain and Pleasure.

Saddharaja and the team will lead us through this territory with talks, meditations, workshops, ritual and readings of the sutta.

This retreat is for those familiar with Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana Meditation practices.

The Retreat
Take the opportunity to connect with the joy and inspiration of a Buddhist retreat community; there is no better way to connect more deeply with the transformational and deeply positive message of the Buddha's teaching.

Everyone who comes to CBC is welcome on this retreat - even if you are relatively new! All you need to be ready for this retreat is interested in meditation, curious about myth and ritual and open to Buddhist teachings - you don't have to be a fully signed-up Buddhist!
