Weekend Winter Retreat - Vajrasana

Dates:
Friday 8th Dec 2023 to Sunday 10th Dec 2023 - 6.30pm to 1.30pm

Theme - Symbols of Growth and Discovery: Uncovering our True Potential with the White Lotus Sutra

The White Lotus sutra is one of the most popular and enduring Buddhist sutras. The parables and stories from the sutra reveal that spiritual development is an organic and natural process of growth and development. They paint a picture of the Dharma nourishing all beings – like the rain and sunshine nourishes the earth – enabling all to grow and develop in their own way.

Stories like escaping the burning house and coming home after being lost, depict a universe where all beings are moving in the direction of enlightenment – away from suffering and distress and towards the discovery of our true spiritual inheritance of inner riches and joy. The sutra offers a big vision; not just for us individually but for humanity as a whole.

Join us on this retreat where we will engage with the parables and myths from the White Lotus sutra through storytelling, study, group discussion and Buddhist ritual.

The retreat will be held at Vajrasana retreat centre in the beautiful Suffolk countryside just an hour from Cambridge. There’s a warm fire, good food, and potential for new friends – as well and spaciousness and silence.

This retreat is open to newcomers, regulars, sangha and groups from outside of Cambridge.
