Parinirvana Day - Death and the Buddhist

Parinirvana Day - Death and the Buddhist
Parinirvana day is an opportunity to explore and reflect on the significance of the final days of the Buddha and his passing away. In doing so we can not only learn more about the qualities and person of the Buddha, but also creatively come into relation with the mystery our own mortality, and appreciate the preciousness of human existence.
There will be a keynote talk by Rijumati on the theme of ‘Death and the Buddhist’. The day will also involve meditation, led reflection and a special puja where there will be the opportunity to bring to mind departed friends and family.
Many will know Rijumati from his long association with Cambridge and Windhorse Trading. He studied physics at the university and is interested in the interaction between science and the Dharma. He currently lives and teaches the dharma in Barcelona where he is a founding member of Triratna’s Buddhist Centre in the city.
