Explore Relaxation Methods

Dates:
Monday 9th Sep 2024 to Monday 21st Oct 2024 - 5.30pm to 7.00pm

The course

In this course, you can learn about and explore a range of relaxation methods through specific exercises that support switching from ‘stress mode’ to ‘relaxation mode.’ It offers an experiential learning environment where you can find out which relaxation method and practice might suit you: active relaxation (Feldenkrais and qigong), autogenics, breath relaxation, progressive muscle relaxation, relaxation-oriented meditation, and yoga nidra.

Relaxation exercises can be an enjoyable experience in and of themselves. Regular practice can support concentration and sleep, general well-being, inner peace, creativity, meditation, and gentle psychological processing to release physical and emotional tensions and anxieties. You can find more information about relaxation methods at www.relaxationpathways.eu.

Course materials include handouts and recordings of guided exercises. The course can be a useful foundation for training in a specific relaxation method, as well as a lead-in to meditation, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, qigong, tai chi, or yoga.
